America’s funny girl is best friends with comedian Amy Poehler, is famous for her comedy sketch with Will Ferrell on Saturday Night Live, has written a book, Bossypants and makes fans feel like she’s the girl next door.

Although Tina Fey doesn’t have a film career miles long, the comedian has made a name for herself in several different media ventures. According to Celebrity Net Worth, she became the first female head writer for Saturday Night Live and then went on to write and star in 30 Rock a television show loosely based on her time at the popular weekend show.”

The comedy, “30 Rock”, was so popular Fey won her first Emmy for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series within the first season. In 2008, she received a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award to add to her trophy case.

The star-studded cast included Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer, Rachel Dratch and others. Netflix doesn’t release their official profit numbers, but with a small run in theater’s and a trending film on the streaming giant, estimates reach into the millions.

The Invention of Lying – $18 Million

The romantic comedy written and directed by another of Fey’s frequent co-stars, Ricky Gervais, follows the first human with the ability to lie in a world where people can only tell the truth. Fey’s role is that of Shelley Bailey, office worker alongside Rob Lowe and Jonah Hill.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot – $25 Million

According to The Numbers, Fey takes a role outside of the typical, as reporter, Kim Baker who needs a change in her life. She chooses to take an assignment in a war zone and in the midst of the most dangerous and chaotic environment she’s ever been in, she finds the strength and direction she’s looking for. Fey serves as producer for the film and works alongside Margot Robbie and Billy Bob Thornton in the drama.

Muppets Most Wanted – $51 Million

Fey plays Nadya is the comical film of our favorite Jim Henson characters alongside Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell and plenty of cameos from other A-listers. According to IMDb, the Muppets gang finds themselves wrapped up in a jewelry heist headed by a Kermit the Frog look-alike.

Baby Mama – $64.2 Million

Fresh off of the success from “Mean Girls” Fey and Poehler team up in a comedy about Kate Holbrook (Fey) and her surrogate, a unexpected and somewhat immature Angie Ostrowski (Poehler). The two women have to learn to get along as the due date approaches.

Sisters – $105 Million

According to Insider, Fey once again teams up with friend and co-star Poehler. This time, the pair play sisters that decide to throw a wild party in light of their parents putting their childhood home up for sale.

Soul – $120 Million

Fey partners with Disney Pixar in their 2020 animated film about a New York jazz pianist (Jamie Foxx) suddenly trapped between Earth and the afterlife where he meets 22, a grumpy, opinionated and begrudging character voiced by Fey.

Mean Girls – $129 Million

Back in 2004, Fey wrote the hit comedy “Mean Girls” starring Lindsey Lohan, a young Rachel McAdams, Amy Poehler and Fey as Ms. Norbury. The film surrounding high school girls and the ups and downs of adolescence and clearly resonated with audiences everywhere.
